We aim to empower individuals to understand, train, and care for their dogs in a compassionate and cooperative manner. Great Companions offers force-free, positive reinforcement training, mostly using the clicker, to help people and their dogs develop great communication skills and trust. In addition to private lessons, Great Companions offers classes in Puppy Manners, Foundations, Advanced Manners, Canine Good Citizen, Rally, Agility, Scent Work, Reactive Dog Class, Tricks, Treiball, Confidence Building, Parkour, and other specialty classes. Class size is small to maximize individual attention.

Jan Marinelli is a Positive Reinforcement / Force Free dog trainer located in the Summerville, South Carolina region. Jan believes that her work is to help dogs and their humans communicate more clearly to each other for the enrichment of their lives together. Throughout this work, she offers support and encouragement to both canines and humans to learn new behaviors through healthy play, lots of praise, and practice. Jan has successfully completed Pat Miller's Level 1 training. She is also a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen trainer and evaluator.

Hi, there! I am a CPDT-KA credentialed, Fear-Free Certified dog trainer living and practicing out of San Francisco. I have an extensive background in the shelter and rescue world, and am also very passionate about purebred dogs, breed-specific behavioral traits, and helping urban dogs find activities that ignite their genetic strengths and talents. I am proud to use only rewards-based, motivational training methods. I train in a way that is fluid, exciting, and highly engaging, ensuring that every dog I work with WANTS to learn. My special areas of interest include puppy development, leash skills, reactivity, fears and sensitivities, cooperative care, scentwork, and general household skills.
